An academic article highlights the role of the MOT in the process of setting up bilateral treaties

This article "Multiple levels, multiple streams: how border regions made it into the Treaty of Aachen" focuses more specifically on the Treaty of Aachen. Published by the journal "French Politics", it provides insight into cross-border policy-making processes and the role played by cross-level policy entrepreneurs such as the MOT.
The research is based on an analysis and interviews with experts, tracing how cross-border cooperation was integrated into the Treaty of Aachen, and revealing how actors from French and German border territories played a decisive role, using the channels of multi-level governance.
